When the handle is turned up, the water will come out from the top spray, and when turned down, the water will come out from the tub spout. Additionally, the further you rotate the handle to the left, the hotter the water will become. This is clearly illustrated in the picture. Please note that you cannot have both the top spray and tub spout working simultaneously.
