How to Install the Tub Spout It is important to install a 1/2” - 14NPT diameter water pipe with Teflon tape to prevent leakage. The recommended length of the water pipe should be between 3-⅞” to 4”. Incorrect pipe size may prevent proper installation of the tub spout.
